Nokia Lumia 1520

Nokia had taken the wraps off a host of new devices at its event in Abu Dhabi, including a new phablet, the Lumia 1520. The phablet now makes its debut in India and is notable for the huge display, a clear signal that Nokia is bucking up to the competition, all of which have big-display bearing devices to their names.

The Lumia 1520 has been one of the most widely praised Nokia Lumias ever. The smartphone runs on the Windows 8 platform as all Nokia Lumia devices but also introduces a hoist of changes to the Lumia series. It is not just bigger but clearly better too !!

But that is just the tip of the iceberg for the Lumia 1520, which was earlier known as Bandit. So what has the Finnish smartphone manufacturer packing into the new handset? We took a closer look to find out:

For those unfamiliar with Lumia 1520's specs, here is a quick recap. The phablet's main selling point is the huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone packs a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Another strong point of the Lumia 1520 is the impressive 20-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera, which features Carl Zeiss optics, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

The phone is definitely heavy on the pockets and comes with a price-tag of Rs 46,999. However, with many first-time features for Lumia and a great camera, we think the price might just be justified.
